First, I love Parfums de Marly fragrances with Herod, Layton, Oajan, Habdan, Darley and others putting the starch in my Morning Woodrow. It just screams “high quality”. Far superior to Fierce and Legend in quality. Es zeigt sich subtil ausbalanciert mit zitrischen und aromatischen Noten auf einer holzigen Basis. My favorite of the PDM line (own Layton, Carlyle). Even more designer like than Layton. It opens with a blast of Ambroxan which does conjure up other frags that do the same, like Sauvage.
Even the water in his garden fountains had a lovely scent. Picked up a sample of this at Nordstrom’s over the weekend and wore today for the first time. Think Dior Sauvage too bland?
It has that shower gel vibe, with a few additional green notes to my nose. Niche quality "Blue Shower Gel" type of scent. Light fruity and floral geranium, bergamot, mandarin orange and lavender top notes evoke images of a bright and blossoming garden before they are tempered by spicy middle notes of jasmine, violet, coriander, cinnamon and hedione. They create the first impression and tend to be quite intense, but not long-lasting. It's not necessarily marine notes (what someone not particularly familiar with frags would assume would be "blue"), but seems to be more a sense of freshness. Just an average men's fragrance, you have smelled this scent probably a hundred times before, i would NOT spend $200+ on this fragrance. the way this is achieved by PdM is to use very high-quality ingredients in higher concentration than comparable designers scents.
Von: Parfums de Marly . Released in 2018, Percival Royal Essence is a fresh and citrusy perfume created by Hamid Merati-Kashani for Parfums De Marly. Now, at 7pm, the arm is nothing, but the chest smells great! Kopfnote: Natürliche Mandarine, Aromatische Noten, Bergamotte, Basisnote: Moschus, Holzige Noten, Pfeffer. People say this is a higher quality version of Mont Blanc Legend, but I'm not even sure it's that. I will give this more testing. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. It made me feel a bit ill but i think this was mainly because i was suffering from a hangover. Happy to have in my collection, but it's not a must have. There's some similarity there, but Percival at least starts off more citrusy. The salty synthetic ambergris note lingers persistently.

A well balanced Ambroxin bomb, with citruses and an aquatic touch plus Lavender to give it a luxurious feel. @tetracom How the hell you say it smell's like dior sauvage is beyond me!!!! Easy on the trigger too. Pleasing, comfortable, keeps you in the comfort level when you wear it. Percival falls under a spicy “blue” for my nose. I might get it. The lavender and citrus help keep it from being just an oceanic fresh fragrance. I wear Percival on special occasions and I can say, I have gotten a lot of compliments from it. This is the perfect example of what good advertising can do. Safe bet to blind buy this, but don't expect anything extraordinarily crazy as it's not as unique as Herod, Layton etc. The floral spicy heart of the composition then introduces a combination of essences of silk jasmine and violet with a note of hedione, intense coriander, and warm sinnamon. There are no member images of Percival yet. Although the Ambroxen is present, it blends perfectly with the other notes to create a delicious, fresh and almost gourmand smell that you don’t typically find in Designer scents at the mall. In just a moment the wood accords of the base enter the fragrance, they come across as very fresh, aromatic and clean woody tones. Lavender is very pronounced throughout the fragrance and the base is slightly sweet but still fresh. Takes anywhere from 4 hours to over a day. The performance is above average (excellent for a freshie) and the scent is infinitely pleasing. A bust in my mind. Parfums de Marly Percival opens with a moderate to a soft projection of sweet mandarin and lavender accords. Went through 2 2ml samples before buying a bottle. I have some of PM offerings that are really incredible to my nose. Many houses enjoy a certain theme or notes in many or most of their releases (e.g. I am actually finding similar vibes to Pacific rock moss, surprisingly, which is never a bad thing in my book. I really like the richness in quality of PDM releases (except for Sedley), however, Layton, Layton Exclusif, and Carlisle and most other PDM are still dark/heavy, Galloway is fresh but plain, Sedley is fresh and nice but only if you put your nose right up against where it's applied 3 to 5 times, otherwise it's a non-projecting, watered down version of Percival (perhaps more rounded). Lavender and mandarin are quite prominent, giving a refreshing, young still elegant character to the composition. And yes there is a similarity to MB Legend and others, but don't mistake this has quality ingredients that don't scratch and burn your nose. i believe this bottle is tailored more toward someone who might be just getting into niche fragrances or something of that nature. B. It's a beautiful scent and one of my favorite from the house.it has a mass appealing vibe to it whilst still remaining classy and sophisticated.
Closest fragrance in smell and price is probably Louis Vuitton L’Imensitee. The base is fattened and rounded out with higher quality aromachems in the usual way Parfums de Marly does, but there isn't anything particularly niche about the execution, and this is yet another example from the house of a scent meant for the rich STEM or medical professionals that have enough interest in perfume to watch the occasional YouTube reviewer rant about a brand like this.
Honestly, I prefer the Abercrombie. Oceanic, dark, and citrusy.

No it is not a clone. Update after a few proper wearings.

I've gone through a couple of decants of this, and I can't for the life of me figure out where the Sauvage comparisons are coming from. Even just smelling it on myself throughout the day doesn't give me a feeling like I'm wearing something of high quality, or even that I smell remotely good for that matter.
