Want to lay my hands on a FB. This is the most duplicitous scent that's ever seduced me.

If Karl Lagerfeld's Floreintal got a makeover, this is what it would smell like(no disrespect to Floriental because i like that one too). i wish it lasted a bit longer, but I'll take what I can get. Cardamon really dominates at first but then everything starts to glow with a sweet nutty snell that it could be attributed on coconut although i can't be sure. It has everything I love: woods, resins, acrid bitterness, amber, a touch of rose, a touch of incense, and is very light, effervescent with the bergamot, clementine and elemi (though not listed and may be the frankincense). Thought I would love this based on all the gorgeous notes listed in it's description. smart. It's the kind of scent I like to sit with and appreciate its calm, rested beauty. I have no idea what note or combination of notes is creating this effect or even what the smell is that I remember from back then. It's that first flash of coke. This smells like nothing else. Good projection and excellent longevity (10+ hours). Both use citrus and spice in the opening but Tauer grounds his version with a little orris in the heart and uses his signature resinous amber base to soften the edges. It starts out too sour on my skin. The cedar (Love!) Looking back, I realize that Luckyscent's samples are often woefully inadequate in helping me make decisions, Incense Rose being a case in point.

I'm actually considering a full bottle. Rose is in the background on this one, the rest of this scent is all about frankincense, spice, and a boozy (fermenting?) i tried it today and this MIGHT beat my galliano from my list, this is better,more incense stays on for long indeed. Undoubtedly it is a beautiful creation, perfectly blended and masterfully executed but as in true work of art, there is so much more to this perfume than just a perfect composition. This may be a scent that elicits the "what are you wearing" comments, because it projects so nicely. On the plus side Incense Rose' does not lead with the pharmaceutical notes as does LADDM! This has the same vibe of those spicy rose fragrances like Paestum Rose or Rose Poivree but while the others bury the rose alive with spices, this one actually airy enough to let the rose breath. Andy Tauer's new creation, Incense Rose, brings that feeling of awe and wonder into our lives.

Anyway.... this is a knock-down, drag-out killer of an aptly named "incense/rose"! Since it's so outspoken and strong, you will either love it or hate it. They’re both fireworks aldehydic florientals---expansive, bubbly, heady and very easy to enjoy. then out comes a sort of resiny-incense and maybe a slight rosy hint. Perfection for an incense /rose lover.I get the rose lightly through the incense .

I've sought an incense based perfume that captured a resonant and resinous intensity while playing with sweetness and floral freshness for years and this is the perfect example.

It opens with sparkling orangey citrus and myrrh before getting smokier, deeper and richer. It goes all incense and rose with a woody backbone for about 5 hours when it starts to be a bit sweeter and resin like; it's not that screechy anymore and the myrrh and resins take a central stage while incense still goes strong. It’s like the soapy balsamic base had a restless dream. I detest cardamom in big quantities…everything is said with that. perfect for men. It is a fragrance situated amongst a corpus of work where it is at constant risk of being overlooked, plainly due to the excellent company it keeps. On my skin after an hour it smells like a watered down L'Air du Desert with a slightly out-of-place incense note. Not for everybody, but a real treat. Sticks to clothes like glue. It's a slightly bitter incense, not as cold as I prefer. Incense Rose is one of those scents. I am very impressed! I did the same. Nor does it scream rose. Basically what it does is cut the incense/wood combo enough that the perfume could be called unisex instead of masculine .Longevity & sillage are both very good . (If you use too much the boozy clementine will trip all over the dance floor, refuse to go home, and you'll wake up feeling hung-over yourself). I want to keep trying to see what else I might be able to pick up on. Must be my skin. First time spraying this, it reminded me of swedish "glögg" (a swedish version of gluhwein) and clementines. There is something sharp/screeching in the background, maybe synthetic woods. Absolutely love how well-blended and unique this perfume is. Very exotic and is certainly a statement scent. In dry-down, Incense Rose became francincense plus fresh-cut cedar. The question for me is will it get good enough? I could be wrong, but it smells like something that comes from the woods or the incense (rather than the rose). I have come to the conclusion that Andy Tauer is something you either "get" or you don't. I gave it a few chances. Although it is very high quality and is gorgeous in a somewhat masculine manner, I can't see me wearing this. Excellent longevity too. A beautiful effervescent incense scent with lashings of rich, natural rose. So Beautiful. I wrote, "MADNESS! Kind of antiseptic and musty at the same time. First try I was a little overwhelmed but I now LOVE this scent, enough to buy a full bottle, yes it's expensive but I really feel Tauer scents are unique, they tell a story somehow and you can tell they are made with fine ingredients.The incense and the rose are blended beautifully and although a little loud on first application it settles to the most comforting, haunting smell.As others have said don't decide on first spray,wear it,let it grow on you and you won't want to let it go. I'm thrilled with Incense Rose. I love woods, resins, balsamics, heavy orientals, incense scents and I have POAL, TF Sahara Noir, Heeley Cardinal and Guerlain's Encens Mythique--and I was sort of expecting a riff like POAL. But some days it seems perfect - don't know what's wrong with me:). 5.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating. The blend, quality of notes and execution is masterful. It's shrill, sharp attribute is also present, albeit to a much lesser degree, in Thirty-Three, a composition I enjoy. You need to be logged in (or register here) to use Private Notes. The facets of an actual rose are amplified (the peppery accords, the lemony-"elemi" bits, with a breath of sweet and wood)--but it's not a "ROSE" perfume to me. In brief: I am not a jot less enchanted. It's been a year since I first bought/loved Incense Rose, so it's time for an update. Very weak performer on my skin, becoming a skin scent after an hour. Which makes for a fantastic fall nights perfume that does fetch a compliment.

:-), I used this perfume for years. This review is based on a sample I got from Tauer Perfumes. I wear it everyday, not because I want to but because I HAVE TO. However, all I get is an overpowering/angry citrus bullying a dark red rose, followed by a brief introduction of cedar and incense before the whole thing quickly disappears in a flash. I find Incense Rose to be a pretty linear and well composed accord of rose, woods and incense. Very nice, spicy, and delicious. in the end it turns to a patchouli-resin on me. Incense Rose by Andy Tauer has got to be one of the best rose fragrances I have ever smelled and I truly mean that. That said, I love this rose. After 20 minutes, no one (including myself) can smell it - not on me, my clothing, nothing.

It is absolutely beautiful, I will definitely be re-purchasing when I run out. A whiff of citrus but mostly a cleverly employed cardamom blend with the two titular components, and all this combines to an intriguing set of top notes. The freshness kinda reminds me of amouage epic man but with some rose and citrus. It was warm and inviting from the resins and incense, but cool and dry from the rose, yet still sweet and bright from the clementine. For me it's an instant love affair. No, too bold.

06 Incense Rose was launched in 2008. However, it seemed to be competing with itself on my skin. I couldn't even guess what it is that I'm smelling. I've waited for a while to review this gorgeous creation. Goes on lovely, layered, incense-y rose. I find it ultrafeminine, but maybe that's just because I love it so much and I'm female. A definite try if you like this profile! It doesn't smell natural to me....to me it smells as if he is trying to hard to make something special. The world with its never-ending worries can drift away while I am with this divine scent. insece Rose is like any real perfume should be like, you can taste the oils and raw ingredients , full of real flavours and presence. INCENSE ROSE 1.7 OZ. I don't understand why others do not like this scent! I toughed it out.

Unfortunately, I am less a fan of resin notes than many others so this one doesn't appeal to me as much as I had hoped.

This is my fav. This fragrance is like a liquid dream. I would still recommend giving this a try, as it's quite unlike anything I've tried before (in true Tauer fashion). The woody and balsamic notes of cedar, vetiver, patchouli, myrrh and labdanum are rich and dark.
