We have narrowed it down to the Hermosa Creek dispersed area and the missionary Ridge Road dispersed area. While signage is hard to see along the road, the three free, dispersed camping areas in La Plata Canyon to look out for are: Expect views of the surrounding La Plata Mountains to the left and right as you sit amongst aspen trees and the La Plata River.
